Good to learn about US subway history – one my favorite things to support today. One point – I heard the author say something to the effect – ‘henry ford came up with this amazing idea to put an engine on a wagon and create a car’. About 20 years earlier, Karl Benz built a motor driven vehicle considered to be the advent of the modern automobile (which Ford knew about) and 100 years earlier – give or take – various self propelled vehicles were built on a one-only basis. Benz also invented the motorcycle and actually the internal combustion engine itself.
a good point, and i appreciate it….i should have been clearer that i was referring to when ford simply formed his company
